If you ever get chance, a day out in the Driver’s Lounge for the British Grand Prix is well worth it. Not a cheap excursion, but you get to mix it with the likes of Jackie Stewart, Alexander Wurz, Anthony Davidson, and many, many others. This was almost certainly the best day out I’ve ever had.
Arriving early means you get to enjoy an amazing breakfast, followed by an all-you-can-drink bar (including champagne). Hosted by Tiff Needell (whom I managed to get a very ropy photo with as I was half way to laughing), visitors pop in and out throughout the day to answer questions, sign autographs, and generally make you feel warm and contented.
The grand stand gives a good view of the pitlane exit and you can see all the way through Maggots and Beckets, which is a sight to behold when an F1 car is going flat out (especially when you’ve earlier seen a Porsche have to slam the anchors on when going through there)!
A few pictures of the day below but it really does have to be experienced to believe how good a day out it really is.
